Well to the best of my knowledge.. virgin.net is owned by NTL now and i myself use ntl:freedom internet services. NTL:freedom is company wholly owned by NTL and used to provide broadband services in non cabled areas, the service is provided though BT exchange.(ADSL-LLU)

I have been using there services for little over a yr and never had any problems with them.Customer service is also quite gud and helpful.
Just checked up on ntl:freedom website.. nowadays they are promoting virgin.net internet services on there own website so i guess that says it all.

    hope this helps

  • As far as I'm aware, Telewest now owns NTL and Virgin mobile.

It's more like NTL took over Telewest, also NTL will be rebranding all NTL/Telewest broadband, TV, fixed line and mobile sevices as Virgin next year.
