You can just add a tablespoon of linseeds to HM bread when you put the mix in the pan. As for soya a large proportion of it is GM.

If you cannot afford a BM just make it in the oven, or else ask for one on freecycle;)

Hi Leonie, can you tell me where you get the wheat from? Would be interested in this myself.

    regards

I get my wheat from here http://www.wessexmill.co.uk/index.html but I bet you can get some locally to you and save on postage. I use half wheat and half store bought as the kids would complain if the bread was too dark... however im sneaking a little more wheat in everytime! ;)

i looked on the website but it only seemed to show ready milled flour unless I'm being stupid - entirely possible. Will they sell you the grain as a special order? If so would be very interested to know how much it costs.

Plus where did you get your grain mill from?
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

Andrew Whitely has a book out (on my wish list )

I had to resort to manufactured bread on holiday, my goodness I'd forgotten how awful it is:eek: No substance to it and a strange vinegary smell. There are nice hand baked loaves out there but they are rarely 'nut-free' so not suitable for us. Organic sliced loaves from a supermarket have less weird ingredients in than the others btw.

i read a book called not on the label.... with is VERY interesting..... it's about a undercover reporter.. that went to work in various food factories...erc... the things that she wrote in that book... was disgusting.... and the thing is... the government are allowing these additives.. and food preperation practices to carry on......
i read that long life bread is sprayed with a fungaside to stop the mould growing on it......

after reading this book.... it took me ages to do my shopping.....as i was paranoid about what went into our food.......

did you know that e.. additives are not tested before they go in the food chain..(as far as i know )...

i am now baking my first loaf of bread this afternoon..... so wish me luck....o.k its a ready mix pack just need to add water.... but it is a start.... my m.i.l has a bread maker she said i could have.. so will pick that up later...
