Can I be a Avon lady?

Hi guys

I have been thinking about becoming a Avon lady for a while now and with moving house within the next few months I thought it might be a good time to start then. Get to know my new area and make some extra money while at home with my daughter.

The biggest thing that is stopping me is the money side, I am no good at all with money and it's worrying me to the point where I dont want to do it.

Because of the money worry side is it a good idea to do it or not?

Thanks

The money side of things is really simple - the admin fee is added onto your invoices, £7.50 onto your first and £7.50 onto your second - so you can try and see how you like it. If you don't submit an order then you won't owe anything.

As for paying avon - once you have delivered your orders, you pay avon what you owe them, it tells you on your invoice and also online, you can pay at HSBC bank, post office (but these incur a 50p charge) or you can pay the money into your bank account and pay online or over the phone. Then everything left is yours!

When deliverying your orders, if you use a separate purse just for avon deliveries, then you know all the money in that purse isn't necessarily yours to spend as it is separate from your "regular" money, some of it will need to go to avon.

Thanks for your reply it is useful but I also mean with customers giving me money and me giving them change! (yes I am that bad with money), it worries me but I am also worried it is holding me back.

Also I want to do this part time, is it possible to do this while working part time as well?

    Thank you

Yep - you do as much as you want to, some people just order for themselves and a few family members/friends.

I work full time shifts, and fit it in around that.

If you did a few orders at a time, you could work out how much change you would need before getting to the customers door, used to take me ages, but I've gotten much quicker at counting!

Thank you for your advice. I wouldn't mind giving it ago when I move so going to collect loads of information before I take the plunge.
