Hi
I have been a member on here since last year mainly entering the competitions and I have had a proper look at this site and have seen there is lots of help available on here and hope someone can help me with a problem I have as Im at my wits end with this (I hope Ive posted in the right place)

About 20 months ago I was on maternity leave and needed a loan as we were struggling to pay debts and I wanted to consolidate them.
I phoned Churchwood and somehow I was persuaded into going into debt management (although it was only £3k debt)
I went into this as I was told it was a government run thing and I would not be hassled and be debt free in 20 months. I cannot beleive I fell for this really but i did and 20 months on Im still in exactly the same debt despite paying them £150 for 20 months.
I have written several letters of complaint, called everyday and done everything I can to get some answers but nobody helps me they gave me my joining fee back (£190) but I am still in the same debt I was when I started and I dont know what to do. This has affected our lives in a big way we really wanted a second baby but cant as this is hanging over us and I dont know who to go to to help me sort this out. This company are crooks as far as I can see but no matter how much I ask for help they wont help me
Can I come out of it ?
I would have paid my debt now if I had not gone into this I could kick myself
Any help of advice from anyone who knows what I can do would be soooooooooo gratefully received as I am so upset about this.

    Hi

You can cancel your agreementwith churchwood at anytime. You usually have to give 4weeks written notice. You then need to contact one of the charities that will give you free advice and/or will run your DMP for you, but unlike churchwood will not charge a monthly fee - see here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2077631

Have you got any CCJs? If so you may be eligible for an Admin order. If not you may wish to look into possibily Debt Relief Order eligibility but the best thing to do would be to contact CAB, CCCS or National debtline for free advice and assistance.
