That's what I did and they were fine about it. Probably good to say you are going bankrupt as you don't want to accidentally end up with a normal account!0

Yes, I did and there was no problem with it, if you don`t they may open a current account for you by mistake.:pB&SC No. 298

I just walked in and told them straight that i was going Bankrupt and they set up my cashminder that day. Easy as that.0

We told them on the phone as they asked why we wanted such a basic account, there was no problem with it at all.
I think they are quite used to it as they are one of only 2 banks which offer BR's accounts, they must have lots of us on their books lol!!

Right phoned up and asked to open cash minder asked why that specific account told them was going BR and they advised that once BR was done then phone back. As if opened it before would take months to get up and running properly whereas if i left till officially br would only take few days.0

I`m sorry but that is a load of crap they are telling you. I had mine up and running in a matter of days and I opened it 10 weeks before my BR. By the time my BR came round all my DD`s and SO`s and incomes were going in and coming out of that account like clockwork, told the OR and they said they had no interest in it. You are not in Brighton are you?:pB&SC No. 298

That sounds like you got through to someone who couldn't really be bothered to open the account. I'd suggest ringing them back and hoping you get someone different as as all of us have said, it's not a problem opening it before you go BR (unless you are in the area covered by the Brighton OR). Best to have it open and ready for when you go BR.0

Like dojo (actually his advice) I opened mine well in advance of BR and had the account running with wages and dd's at the time I went BR. I even told them when opeining the account it was in anticipation of going BR.
My OR has no interest and is writing to them to advice as such.0
