-going through the recipe index on Old Style will probably be helpful, you can pick your ingredients and find recipes. You'd do well to start bulk-cooking and freezing, too, and there are lots of 'value' items, like oats, that are just as healthy to buy as the more expensive ones. You can pick up cheap containers from somewhere like Poundland for storing stuff, cooking in bulk may also save on energy bills, then try to plan your meals for the week so you don't buy over the amount you need. Seems to be just another way of saying 'healthy eating', as many of us always have done, a good balance of all food types as our mothers and their mothers before them have eaten.. Nothing new apart from the lack of beans and cereals.
And of course a doctor in America has given it a name and sells lots of books and products off the back of it. As he says himself, we're not hunter gatherers any more, we live in modern Western World and even some of us who have gone back to living in a basic fashion in the countryside don't live in a palaeo-way, thank goodness. He says you can do if you're vegetarian if you also use a lot of supplements (purchasable from him!!!) though cereals and beans are out. Well tough! Beans are great sources of cheap food and you can make some fantastic meals out of them. Ridiculous!
If you eat healthily you can still live cheaply - and in your situation I think sorting out your finances is a priority over eating meat twice a day, using supplements and buying from expensive shops.
Anyway I'm off for my baked beans on toast for brekkie, yum, that will set me up nicely for a day of hunter gathering!

I am not changing what I am eating. All grains are out. all dairy, all alcohol, all processed food and sweets.
I do use a lot of mince and I make stew in a slow cooker and freeze.
Beans are particularly bad. They disagree with me dreadfully. I won't go into detail!
I am feeling very encouraged though and have had one NSD and one nearly (60p) Hope to have another one today.
Also putting all my 20ps in a purple china cat I have - I could have sworn it was a pig but no!
I don't use the car unless I absolutely have to. Walk or cycle.
I am also determined to use up all the toiletries I have accumulated before I buy another thing - and that includes the little bottles they give you at hotels.!Sealed Pot challenge 3 - #969

You comment that your meat is delivered in portions? And that you eat high fat, low carb. Could you perhaps think about those portions set out by your butcher?
Think stir fries for example, small amounts of meat, loads of veggies and a decent amount of fat. If you eat one a week and used the other part of the portion in another meal - say with a salad?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
good ideas but I like to keep carbs low so eat meat plain grilled or mince or stew (slow cooker) I got them to put chops in twos this time and smaller steaks.
Shoulder of lamb lasting 3 or 4 days. I really am a carnivore by inclination.
Very pleased with weight loss on this Way of Eating.
From 207 lbs to 173 since middle of January. Over halfway to nebulous target. And determined to get back to 'normal' weight this time. I have just got bigger and bigger over the years until getting 'gross'.
I am still heavy but not unnormal looking now.

Since reading this thread I have tried the Paleo Diet and have lost 10lb in 5 weeks, so thanks for mentioning it. Most evenings I have stir frys now for my dinner with either mince, chicken or turkey. Or an omelette. I bought the book the Paleo Diet and found that you can eat tinned fish if you wash it throroughly and drain so sardines and mackerel are used for some of my lunches with my salad. I was buying a lot of fresh veg etc for the stir fries but picked up huge bags of frozen sliced peppers and mushrooms from farmfoods that I now use instead of fresh in the stir fries and keep the fresh peppers for my salads.
I have found that not only have I lost weight but this has also sorted out my IBS.
