How do you count one year of pension contribution?
What happens if you work part time?
I think I have 30 years but for 6 of these I worked part time, do they count?

If you paid full NI contributions while working part-time, yes they do count.

Its not the part time bit that counts its the total NI you've paid/been credited with that matters.
Best bet is to get a state pension forecast
http://www.thepensionservice.gov.uk/atoz/atozdetailed/rpforecast.asp#moreI no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
I did two years of part-time service towards the end of my career and earned enough to pay NI, therefore these years count towards my pension.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
