os menopause

Options
I am 42 and I missed my last two monthlys. I did a test and I am not pregnant. Is it the menopause? I thought you got that when your in your 50s. If its the menopause are there any os remedies to help symptoms like hot flushes? TBH I'm nervous about all of this.

It could be due to any number of reasons. Book an appointment with your GP for a check-up. Better safe than sorry.

Menopause can come early, have you been having irregular monthlies over the past 6 months to year or so? eg. 2 weeks on 2 off, or a week on 6 off, that kind of thing? That's usually what's known as the perimenopausal stage and can last for years. But as nabowla said it could be due to many things, stress is a common factor. Get to the docs and have a chat to her. Best wishes, Josie.

Found these threads (among others) over in the Health Moneysaving board (it's a sub forum in Marriage, Relationships and Families) :-

    Peri Menopause

    Relief From menopause misery

    Is this a hot flush?

Haven't had time to read through them myself, but there may be indicators in those threads which you might find helpful.

For medical advice and remedies, you would be best advised to visit your GP or Practise Nurse or "Well Woman Clinic". First and foremost to establish if this is indeed peri-menopause and then to get the best advice. We're discouraged from doing that on the MSE boards.

Wishing you all the best, Izzy.

Hiya, Izzy. Queenie's right. There is a rule in the stickies about asking for medical advice. It's here.

Since there seems to be some info available on the health board, I'll lock this thread to keep in line with Martin's request.

I do sincerely wish you well. And I agree tht you should have a chat with your GP or 'well woman clinic' as Queenie suggested.

    Good luck.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.
