my story

Hi every1......i have finally found a forum that exchanges views on the dreaded debt subject,i have been in debt now for 10 years and it all started when i got my first credit card. The most i been in debt is 22k and the least is £300, at the moment it stands at 13k which consists of 2 credit cards 1 unsecured loan and an overdraft.I have always paid the creds on time even when it peaked at 22k..........that is until recently for various reasons i have found myself short of doe at times when i most need it and the phone is starting to ring and the letters are starting to arrive due to late payments to my credit cards.i have spent the last 10 years maxing out credit cards and then getting a consolidation loan to pay them off, then i just couldnt resist the temptation of using the cards again especially when the limit was increased then i would max out and consolidate again and again.I am now in position where i have missed 1 morgage payment and i have been paying my credit card payments late and i am being hit with charges for late payments, missed direct debits etc etc. Here is my breakdown.......wages £1,300pcm ..........unsecured loan £278 pm (until oct 08).....cc balance £3500.........cc balance £1300.......... council tax £80 pm.........mortgage £320pm.......and then food, car tax, petrol etc etc:rolleyes:

Hi DND and welcome to the boards.

Martin has a budget planner which you can use to work out your full Statement of Account.

You will inevitably forget some things from your budget, so try to fill it in and come back with all the items counted up. You will also get more responses, often from people who have been in your shoes and come out the other side!

You're with friends now, so feel free to share your worries here.

    Hi debtndanger

Would you be able to post up a full Statement of Affairs (SOA) here? Basically it is a list of your incomings and outgoings so that we can try and help you claw back some extra cash to at least pay off what's owing on your mortgage?

Have a look at this post for details of posting an SOA:

If you need any professional help on how to progress please call the Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) on 0800 138 1111
http://www.cccs.co.uk/ They will certainly be able to put your mind at rest - there are many threads on here that attest to this.

If you ever need to speak to someone - blow off some steam...there always tends be someone here with a motivating/kind word.

    Good luck!
