Late mortgage payment

I have recently changed my bank account and have been paying my mortgage over the phone the last couple of months - havent set up a direct debit due to wages flucturating so I prefer to pay at the end of the month (Northern rock has said payment is made on day I phone up not when money comes out of bank account)
I knew that today was a bank holiday but just assumed that Northern Rock would be open as usual till 8pm tonight. However when I phoned up I was told offices were closed till tommorrow due to the bank holiday
Is there any way I could make a payment today that will go through today?
Obviously when I phone up tommorrow it will be a new month and so my payment will be late.
Will I be charged a late fee?
How much will this fee be?
Will they 'let me off' the late fee
Will this show up on my credit file?
Cheers in advance

Don't worry. I am with NR too.
It will be fine.
Same has happened to me a couple of times.
No late fee, no late payment lodged with credit file.0
