When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :T

Morning all!!!
Hope you're all well?
A nice sunny day so far up north so fingers crossed for the rest of it!

Have woken up to a nice sale on Amazon of an unwanted (and unused!) university book for £15 and a sale of at least £10 on Ebay (doesn't close for another few hours). I joined the "Make extra cash in June" thread yesterday and am already £35 up! Must find more things to sell!

Today's little list is...
  • Walk dog for free exercise (done one, 2 to go)
  • All food from stores
  • Checked banks
  • Pay OH for holiday to Turkey we booked yesterday - hurrah!
  • Move some money from savings to current account
  • Hoover and dust house
  • Change bed
  • Do two loads of washing and dry naturally
  • Do a list of uni work that needs to be done this week
  • Try to have a NSD
  • List some more things on ebay (going quite well so far)
  • Do any surveys that come
That's it for today - have a good day!

    No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one! :mad:

    (((((((((Josie)))))))))) not sure what's going on in your life at the minute, but sounds like you need a hug today. Just read something Fay said on her thread about life being like jumble sale - elbows out, head down, get stuck in! Not sure that will be helpful, but it made me laugh at least. Sounds like you just need to get through today. Can you take a good long soak in the bath?

    Thanks for starting us off Rachel! :) And what a lovely thing to wake up to! :)

    Busy-ish day for me...

    * cheery run (free exercise)
    * re-burn transcribing cd
    * buy compost
    * repot cabbage and chard
    * finish friend's present (this has been on list for weeks, must do today!) :D
    * get sealant off bath
    * 2 hours PhD
    * 1.5 hours transcribing
    * decide and iron clothes to wear tomorrow (first day at new job!) :T
    * list of jobs for voluntary event in couple of weeks
    * write on cheery blog
    * make things to sell on ebay!
    * make lunch for tomorrow
    * nice cheery bath
    * early night :j

    That's about it I think! Mr Daffs and our guest are still in bed (not the same one! :rotfl:) Was going to pop and get milk, but might take advantage of the quiet to get some PhD done :A

    Have a good one everyone!

    xx

    I always thought that too but apparently you can choose what you want to aim for not just £10 a day.
    I went for £5 a day (that in itself will be a miracle!) but that's £150 over the 30 day month.
    I'm going to count ebay and amazon sales, any casual work I can pick up, surveys etc
    Basically anything extra that's not from my "wages" that will be ending this month (June) as my training is officially over in a couple of weeks.

    I'm at £35 so far and June hasn't even started yet! I decided to start on the weekend and as it was nearly June I thought I'd lump it all in together.
    Worth a go I suppose!

    Hi everyone, :wave: my first time posting here but I've been reading for a while! - just wanted to join in on all the fun chat! :D

    Today I have:
    - checked banking online - could be worse!
    - checked when i can pick up parcel (attempted delivery on saturday) - not open today so will have to be Thurs i think :(
    - made own breakkie to take to work (i start at 7am so too early to eat at home)
    - made lunch to take too
    - not dried hair with hairdryer (tho i think this is more likely because im lazy as opposed to DFW!) :D
    - charged phone and ipod at work instead of at home

    Think that's all for now, it'll be interesting to see how much i get done/don't get done!!!

    Hope everyone has a good day and hugs are available for those who'd like/need one!

    :D

    Today i still need to:
    - have a trial NSD in prep for first month of NSD starting tomorrow! - nothing spent so far :)
    - work hard at work - will come back to this!
    - sort out my clicking!
    - enjoy breakkie and lunch! - BIG TICK!
    - learn how to pitch my bro's tent so i can have a DFW/MSE holiday!
    - tidied my room and sort out the washing from yesterday
    - water plants on windowsill (tomatos, lettuce, cucumbers and some herbs)
    - eat from leftovers in fridge for dinner
    Those that matter don't mind, and those that mind don't matter :o
