Thinking of getting a water fountain, want it to be small & white/cream.

This one is small

But it needs filters which must be changed every three weeks. Now that will really bump up the price:eek:

This doesn't need filters:D But is bigger:( & expensive :(

Now I'm thinking why does it need filters anyway:cool:

To use filters & leave them in is asking for trouble, but why do you need them at all?

I use water already filtered anyway for my cats.

Could I buy the small (cheap) one & just not put the filter in?

Are you sure its every 3 weeks? Mine is every 3 MONTHS! lol, If you use already filtered water then I guess you wouldn't need one. And if it gets cleaned regularly then the lime scale shouldn't build up.
Mine had a catit fountain and do use it but still also like to drink out of all the usual places, taps, watering an etc.
    My Kiwi having a drink!

Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.
They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.

I have mine still boxed - where the cats food bowl are situated doesn't have an electricity supply & the kitchen is so small I just don't want anything cluttering up the small floor space or trailing wires - I guess I would have utilised it if both cats weren't drinking so well from a ceramic bowl! That and this thing about cat acne being caused/harboured by plastic meant I never even tried to use the fountain (younger of the two did develop spots on her chin which disappeared after changing food bowls to stainless steel from plastic).

I don't use plastic bowls (use those heavy ones you can't knock over & are supposed to keep the water cool) & George got a bit of Kitty acne. So I don't think its down to bowls.

Would a fountain work without the filter though?
Because if you don't put a filter in, it can't grown nasties can it?

The filter will add bundles onto the running costs & is unnecessary when I use filtered water anyway.
