Can I freeze Sweet CHilli Sauce?

Hi all, brought a huge bottle of sweet chilli sauce from the farm shop for £1 yesterday but it says use within 4 weeks. can i freeze smaller portions instead? thanks muchly xx

    Don't see why not - presumably it will just be sugar, water, veg and flavourings, anyway.

    you can but tbh I would just ignore the 4 weeks bit - the sugar will act as a preservative and I fid it keeps for ages

    I would honestly just keep it as it is - I really don't imagine it would go off. I never read labels like that to be honest. Mine stays as is until it goes mouldy:rotfl:

    I'll leave this for other responses, and add this to the freezing quick questions later

    I should think there'd be no need to use it up that quickly as the sauce is at least 95% sugar which means it last forever. I never read use by dates on this sort of thing.

    But, to answer your question, yes it will freeze perfectly well;)

    Freeze a bit in an ice cube tray, leave for a week, thaw and see how it is. If it's rank, you can still use the original (in the bottle, in the fridge). If it's fine, then you know that freezing it won't affect the quality, overall :)
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)
