Cricky  Ten tonnes, how many of those huge bags is that?
It's a tractors trailer full, delivered with a tractor, that's why they only do 10 miles around Yaxley.

I have a friend that had a load and she has a reasonably big garden, she was able to cover the whole thing to a depth of a few inches.

My garden could do with ten tonnes delivered for that price :(

Mine too! I've been quoted £20 a tonne for garden waste compost but delivery would cost about £60.

I'm going to work out if it would be cheaper for me to spend petrol money to do a number of trips to collect free well rotted manure instead.

Think I may try reusing the compost i have just tipped out from containers with garlic and first new potatoes in. It's just sitting in a barrow at the mo. No disease apparent on plants, crops or soil... would probably use it for salad crops in containers - do you think that'll work out OK?
Or would I be better off adding it to compost heap? We have a black dalek bin and it only has about 4-6 inches worth of stuff in at the moment...
We have a lot of containers this year and the compost from these at the end of the season I think I'll dig into the raised bed once the crops are all finished (obviously assuming no disease) - again, is this OK or a bit of a risk? It is so annoying spending all the cash on it and then dumping it out...
