Ideas for Running Tunes?

Hi everyone,
I love running long distances so I'm going to make a new playlist up of songs to listen to while I run but which songs would give the most motivation?

I am going to download some music and want some ideas of 'good running songs'. I want songs that are fast, have a good beat I can run with, and inspire me to keep going.

Also what are the best sites for you to buy/download music?
all suggestions are welcome!.... :j

    Plenty of ideas here:

Also, there's a section on itunes where various athletes give their best running / powersongs songs. On itunes, there's also a lance armstrong interval training session you can download, which has the whole training session as one track and also the separate songs if you don't want his voice telling you what to do.

I run and workout in a gym and cannot do so withut music! However it really does depend on your taste. The "best running tune" has been voted as being 'The Eye of the Tiger', but that just doesn't cut it for me! Some tunes I find work for me are....

    Queen: Don't stop me Now
Chemical Brothers remix of "Under Pressure"
The Glee soundtracks: Halo, Mercy, Jessie's Girl, Like a Prayer, Jump and Boarderline.
Anthems: Electronic '80s: Enola Gay, Together in Electric Dreams.....etc etc
    Freemasons album/s

Then there are a few DJ sites where you can get a few tunes, free and worth a listen
    DJ Earworm (can download here)
DJ Greg J (can download here)- n/b, not for the faint hearted!
DJ Maggie Mash (can download here)

I'd love to hear other people's suggestions too.

Even though I don't really like dance music, I tend to run to mostly that

    Perfect (exceeder) - Princess superstar
    Work - Kelly Rowland
    Handlebars - Flobots
Anything by Faithless (insomnia, mass destruction)
    Untouched - Veronicas
    Pokerface - Lady Gaga
Number 1 - Ndubz (sssshhh, don't tell anyone)
Beginning of the twist - Futureheads
    Happy up here - Royksopp

If you go on itunes and search for running tunes it will bring up special albums that have running tracks. I tend to run to any of the fast stuff I have on my ipod, Ministry of Sound stuff is always good to exercise to so is Lady Gaga!

    Lady Gaga is good.

Insomnia by Faithless (mentioned above I think)
Most of the tracks on the "Flashdance" soundtrack (esp "Maniac)
Eighties electro music:- Depeche Mode, Erasure, OMD.
Hot N Cold by Katy Perry (one of my faves)
