Poppy Seed Strudel Recipe?

My boyfriend just loves poppy seed strudel but it's so expensive to buy ready made. I've searched a few times on the net to find a non-American recipe but can't find one.

I'd be so grateful if someone can help.

I googled poppy seed strudel and got quite a few. Here's one.

I haven't heard of it or tried it before though. Hopefully someone will have.

Thanks for that Gingham. I'd actually found that site before and searched with poppyseed as two words so came up with nothing.

One problem with it though, it says that you need poppyseed filling, I have no idea what this is, how to make it or where to get it.

I really don't want to give up the search for a do-able recipe!

there's a recipe HERE that has a filling you can make yourself. I haven't tried it myself though

it uses quite a lot of poppy seeds, 250g. if you don't have a source of them, ask at your local healfood store, I got mine to order me a Kilo for £3-odds, a lot cheaper than buying those little jars or packets
