    Bear in mind that not only is the wedding photography market saturated, it's also highly seasonal. If your business takes off, you will NEVER have a summer weekend free again.

    Also make sure you have good insurance just in case something goes wrong even if you do it part time or it could cost you a lot, I once had an expensive 3 week old digital SLR break on a wed shoot but luckily I always shoot with two Slr's and have a spare less expensive one in the car.
