I got my P60 today and it says I have earned less than the £6471 threshold, yet I have paid £284 in tax.
Am I elgible to claim the £284 back?

Yes, send the P60 to your tax office with a covering letter setting out what you were doing throughout the year and ask for a refund.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

Any idea where I would have to send this to? As in where could I find the address, as the local office to me (Scarborough) closed recently.Live for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0 -

Hi guys, quick update, I sent a cover letter to the following address as per the tax code reference on my P60.
5 Young Street Concept House,
Sheffield, S1 4LA.
However, firstly I wanted to try and get in touch with them to see if it has been received and what will happen with it.
Also, I was on Jobseekers Allowance between April2009-September 2009. I suspect I shall need to provide them proof of them amount received. Who do I contact within DWP to get written confirmation of this?Live for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0 -

When jobseekers ended you would have been sent a P45u which would have your payment details on. Part 1A of this form should have been kept for your records, while parts 2 & 3 should have been given to your new employer; hopefully you have it somewhere.
Otherwise I would just give what details you can as the tax office should have the details from part 1 of the p45.0
