spotty tableware

We've just bought our first house - a little cottage and so need to buy everything.

i would very much like plates/mugs/egg cups etc to look like the emma bridgewater polka dots collection but i really can't justify paying £15 for a single plate. the other collection i found that's similar to this is fairmont & main but they're quite expensive too.

would anyone know of something similar but cheaper? it doesn't even need to be multicoloured spots, i just like spots, you know? it would need to be an online retailer rather than a shop as i live on the isle of man and we only have a few national chains represented.

many thanks :)

How about the Tesco Circus 16 piece Dinner Set for £26.25?

Blurb from the site - The Circus 16 piece dinner set features a hand painted multi-coloured spot design on a cream background. This set comprises of 4 dinner plates, 4 side plates, 4 cereal bowls and 4 mugs. Made from earthenware, this dinner set is dishwasher and microwave safe making it suitable for everyday use.

    No egg cups though!

thank you! it's weird, we had the offer accepted about two months ago and i think the fact that we now own a house dawned on me only yesterday when we got the keys!

it's odd, it doesn't feel like our home, i guess because none of our stuff's in there yet (we've got the house we're renting for two more weeks so thankfully didn't have to move in a day) but i'm sure that will change.

I had the tesco spotty stuff bought for me as a wedding present (2 sets) along with some of the Emma Bridgewater stuff (cake tins and a tray). You can't tell the difference and atleast I dont have to worry about breaking the Tesco stuff! The plates are really big and the mugs are lovely.

that's brilliant! it's only the two of us so 4 of each is great for us. now i just need to find out if tesco direct offer the 'pick up from store' delivery for our store, otherwise the delivery is £20 for the isle of man (we get totally ripped off by most companies - the royal mail delivers to the isle of man for the same prices as in the uk!)

use plain white eggcups to go with it, or get some ceramic paint and dab on some spots!
I love it too but can't justify another set of crockery until I have smashed our other two sets!
