30th Birthday Black and WHit Party Buffet

Hi,

I am having a 30th birthday party and I am attempting a black and white theme so have paid for seat covers and tablecloths which have cost me £500 and booked a singer and rented a place so already I have spent a lot of money. Now I need to sort out the buffet but I don't really spend more then £300-400 so I need you help.

There are no heating facilities at the venue so I need to have a cold buffet which my mum is going to make for me but I'm not sure what to have. I want it to be sophisticated and classy, taste good but also not be too fancy or too much work for my mum.

Does anyone have any ideas? Jennie

I think you cant beat a good old classic buffet. Its all about the presentation which will determine how 'classy' or 'fancy' it looks. Sandwiches, mini quiches, sausage rolls, chicken legs, pork pies, chicken goujans, crisps, breadsticks, salad, rice, simosas, spring rolls, onion bahjis, mini pasties and for desserts a couple of the large cakes you can get cheaply sliced up, maybe with a jug of cream too. Just think about what you like to eat when you go to a buffet and pop that on there! Maybe even ask some of your guests what they like to eat on a buffet. At the end of the day you could spend a fortune on a 'posh' buffet and its all food that none of your guests like and it wont get eaten!

The above foody suggestions sound great, so can't add to them, but how about sprucing up the food table itself with something like these?
