Remortgaging/bankruptcy

I have put this on the mortgage board but thought I would put it here as well as I know there are a lot of you here who know quite a bit about bankruptcy.
Basically, 2 years ago my husband and I bought our house. As he was still bankrupt at the time the mortgage we took out was in my name with him being named as a resident of the property so that we could take his salary into account. We have now been notified by the mortgage company that our discounted rate is coming to an end and as we are no longer tied into the mortgage have decided to re-mortgage for a better rate now that my husband has been discharged from the bankruptcy. Our financial adviser has asked us for more information regarding the bankruptcy i.e. dates and amounts, to which my husband has said he doesn't know. My question is would his OR not have these details as my husband has said they would only have his discharge papers. I feel without this information we won't be able to get ourselves a better rate on the mortgage and be paying over the odds on our payments.
I hope I have made sense and that someone will be able to help me.

You will certainly be able to get your discharge papers. Has your husband not got a copy of the "Statement of Affairs" form he submitted when he filed. I was given a copy to take away if I remember correctly.
You may be able to request a copy from the Official Receiver. If there is a problem use the Data Protection Act and request a copy of all information they hold about you.
Try the Insolvency Service Helpline as a first point of call.0 -
Hi was bankrupt
OH seemed to be really unhelpful when I said that I thought his OR would have his details that decided not to carry on with the conversation. The only thing that worries me is that it will be him that will need to speak to his OR and he is adamant that the OR won't have the information. Not sure where I go from here now.Did owe £9,951.96

You're remortgaging for a better rate? I would think you're going to get a lot worse a rate when bankruptcy is mentioned! You may be best keeping things as they are (but looking round for a better deal) as I think you can expect to pay around 5.75% at least for a discharged bankrupt.0

That is kind of what I meant. At our new rate, after the discounted period, it is 6.74%. I was hoping our payments would go down a bit compared to what we have been paying for the last 2 years.Did owe £9,951.96
