For those that have got a make up artist, did you find one that could style hair too or did you just book one or the other?
I've just found a website for someone near by and they have stated on their site that they stay until the veil and tiara are on, I'd not thought about getting those on after having my hair styled. I was also wondering if it would work out cheaper to get one person to do both than employing two people.
What has everyone else done/doing?

With my sisters wedding, we had both - separate people for each (in fact, two people for hair, and one for make up)
But that was for Bride, 2 Bridesmaids and Mum.
It worked well, as make up lady did my sisters make up while mum and the other bridesmaid were having their hair done,
and then mum had her make up (she only has short hair!) while my sister had her hair done.
My sister then went to put her undies on while I had my hair done (other bridesmaid had her make up done)
I had my make up done and then went to help my sister get into her dress....
Whichever you choose, I would recommend a trial - if you can have hair and make up trialed on the same
day, then it works well. I know it's been suggested before that you have your trial on your hen night so
that you get to show off the style...!!
Whereabouts are you? Someone might be able to recommend someone. Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! Yey!! YIPPEE!!0 -
I agree, whatever you opt for, have a trials to be on the safe side!
It will prob be cheaper to have a 2-in-1 but they may not be very good at one aspect of it, you should shop around, ask to see portfolios etc
If you have the cash I'd go for 2 seperate people!0 -

I'm getting married just north of Manchester, less than an hour from the city centre. The hen night isn't going to be until about a week before the wedding so I didn't really want to leave it that late just in case I manage to find someone that has an actual trowel :rotfl:0 -
ok then, you will have to persuade OH to take you out for a meal or something to show off your look...!!

Some to be going on with.....I can't vouch for any of them, as they are way out of my area, but something for you to consider, anyway! Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! Sorry to put my akward oar in, but I would definitely suggest trials and possibly more than one of each, if you are going to use someone that does both. You may risk getting a jack of all trades but a specialist in none, IYSWIM! I am an ex beauty therapist, but am completely useless at hair, and an ex colleague of mine was fantastic at hair but useless at make up! On the other hand, there are plenty of wonderful therapists/stylists that are excellent at both aspects!!Mummy to

Don't be sorry emlou, I wouldn't have asked if I didn't want to hear different POV and it is a good point. There is a site I have found that does both and they look like the outcome is great but there aren't any before pics so I don't know what the person was working from, then I have found someone who does just make up and they have before and after pics that are stunning and you can see how well the make up has been done. I guess I'll just have to make lots of appointments to look throuugh portfolios. The other thing I was thinking of was seeing if any of the girls you get at make up stands do a bit extra on the side, at least with them it'll be a free trial0
