i thought that was extremely cheeky as the flowers would be there already wouldnt they? and then they will continue to be there until they changed them so you are paying for the church flowers not your wedding flowers, maybe its a donation because of the florists time used to put them out is free?
im not having any apart from mine and bridesmaids, i think its a waste of money and not essential
I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p

Just a point, a bit off topic I'm afraid but this is dreadful in my view (and I am a committed church-goer!). Our church florist is charging us for the flowers and the flowers only, and has agreed to work with us within our budget to sort our bouquets, buttonholes etc and to deliver them on the wedding day. To "ask" for a donation to the church equal to the price of your flowers is not a donation, it's a cost, and that's just wrong in my view. I would approach the church about this, especially if it is mandatory to use their flower arranger for the church flowers - it's really not on.

Hope your wedding is wonderful, you sound like you've got all the main things sorted!

I have been told that i have to use the churches flower lady - she puts flowers in the church every few days anyway and all i wanted was to have cream/white/ivory flowers with foliage so nothing special at all... no particular flowers etc. BUT she has said the "charge" for her to do three pedestals (no pew ends etc etc) is £100. I thought this was rather pricey  but my mum is going to pay it cos she says we should have the flower lady from the church lol....saying that though, even the bell ringers are costing us £125 tho just to ring as we exit the church!! I am in the wrong line of work i reckon! Should be a bell ringer :D
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?
