Just A Bit of Advice Please

Hi

I've had two days off sick (yesterday and today) due to a throat infection, now because it's the long weekend my employer wants a sick note. I rang up the doctors and they said they can't issue me with one until i have been off for a week, but i can fill out a self certificate form. The trouble is I don't think that's going to be good enough.

This year in total i've had five days off sick, and every time i do my employer brings it up as an issue. I do understand that people take days off for hangovers etc, but this isn't like that. I feel like no matter how sick i am he wants me to work (which i do understand but when you're coughing, sneezing and being sick - working is the last thing you will be able to do)

I just really don't know what to do.

JS
I am only me, no pretences, no second guesses.. It's the best I can do, I'm sorry if that's not good enough for you... I'm sorry I'm not good enough for you :A

What does your company sick policy say about providing evidence?
Unless it specifies that you need a doctors note if you are off X number of days, you should be able to self-certificate if you are off for 7 days or less.
Telling your employer about your illness

If you have been off work sick for seven days or less your employer can ask you to confirm that you’ve been ill. You can do this by filling in a form yourself when you return to work. This is called self-certification.
Many employers have their own self-certification forms. If your employer doesn’t have their own form, instead they may use an Employee's Statement of Sickness form.

    hope you're feeling better soon
