Employer not adjusting pay in line with tax allowance increases

Hi all :-)

I am in need of some advice regarding wages. My employer did not adjust my pay according to the increased tax allowance introduced in April 2009. I am owed approximately £140.

He has made the same mistake before when Labour scrapped the 10p rate of income tax. When they reinstated it my employer argued that I was not entitled to the rebate of around £60. He was eventually persuaded to pay up...

Who do I turn to for assistance? Inland Revenue?

Thanks in advance :)

For 09-10, your employer cannot now make this adjustment. You will need to send your P60 to your tax office and ask them to deal with your refund.
You could also try and get HMRC to ring your employer and get them to adjust your code, but I am not sure how helpful they will be - a phone call in this situation would probably hold more weight.
Have you tried pointing your employer to the mound of instructions HMRC sends out wach year?
