Sorry if this has already been posted, I've searched but cant find anything.

Win £1000 every week by letting Dr Pepper change your status on Facebook to something embarassing.

Each day you can choose from 3 different embarrassing status's. All different levels of embarrassment.

The more embarrassing they are the more points you earn. The more points you earn the more likely you are of winning £1000.

You can make one a day and it will appear on your page sometime in the next 24 hours

Good Luck :)

Yes, a daily is where you can enter daily, so that it's easier for users to enter all the comps daily, not about when the prize is drawn :)

You have to have at least 10 'friends' to enter this one:( I set up a Facebook account just to enter comps (I don't want hourly updates about what all my nearest and dearest are thinking every day!) and the Dr Pepper page just called me a Billy No Mates:D

NB check the terms before you enter.

you also have to have your real details visable to the public, they wont compromise on that name on check is exactly what it says on your facebook.

visable to them but not public is not acceptable...so all of us with fake names for facebook, or even mse in your name count as disqualified (since thats not what your birth cert says, well thats how i read the terms they have ignored my comments on their page about it).

also if you delete or alter in any way one of their status messages on your wall over the duration of the contest your disqualified and cannot win.

If you're thinking of entering this, beware- you basically sign away any privacy rights. As PurpleCatLover says..
You must use your real name.
Your profile must be public (i.e., even your boss, Granny, boyfriend's Mum, neighbour etc. could read it)
If you delete or alter what they put, in any way at all, even once, you're disqualified.

Just wanted to add, that this gives them carte blanche to post whatever they like as your status, so a less savvy FB user may actually think you've written it...
Some of them are just plain silly (They're a bit obsessed with poo!) Others are certainly not something I'd want my boss etc to read - they're pretty rude (even if it is true, LOL!)
Worse things will have happened in the world today...

I use my real name and i've set my settings so anyone can see my wall and status but only friends for everything else. I think its as long as Dr Pepper can see that your status was shown and not deleted etc, if your picked as the winner

Some are very cringey and I keep thinking is it all worth it, but for a chance of £1000, Im going to put up wth for a few weeks. I just have to keep explaining that its not me putting them up :). And my boss isnt on FB so thats not so bad

  • It's just gotten a whole lot worse than just privacy. One woman on a parenting site has a fourteen year old daughter signed up to this (old enough for facebook ' target audience for competition) and had a casual reference to an extreme !!!!!! clip placed in her status which she promptly googled. Parent filter worked, however whether her friends also googled it isn't known. In any case this could've and may have had diasaterous consequences. Clip referred to was notorious & famous for peoples reactions to it being filmed (they did it on family guy with stewie griffen). I don't suppose there are many young teens on this site, but those with children or know children on it may wish to bear this in mind.

OMG, that's awful. I never thought about that. I think you may be referring to the cup, which is most definitely EXTREME !!!!!!.

Is it being sorted out? x

  • It was the cup, but I wouldn't recommend anyone googling it! But yes, according the the womans thread on mumsnet the company pulled that specific update and offered her free theatre tickets. I think it may end up going a lot further than that though, considering what might have happened.

This promotion has been pulled because of the pornographic nature of the statuses. The early closure of this promo was due to the responses on a mumsnet thread. Prior to this adverse publicity the company weren't concerned about pulling it even though the statuses were still lewd. Considering the target audience this is appalling.

    Good work Mumsnet!
