Not sure that article is good news for potential buyers though.
Surveyors said, during the three months to April, 30% more of its members reported seeing rising rents than those who saw falls.

This was a gloomier picture for tenants than the previous quarter.

"With sellers back in the housing market, supply has fallen back in the letting sector," said Rics spokesman Jeremy Leaf.

"This is good news for landlords as rents are set to move higher in the coming months and yield returns are likely to improve.

It will be interesting to see what may transactions are as my AE family member has seen quiet an upturn in sales this month. But obviously it could be a local anomaly, but emy said they had seen the same in their local.

Rents have dropped consistantly over the last 12 months in my local area, with only a few remaining steady - these haven't been let, for obvious reasons.

RICS need to improve their data collection methods, or possibly renting in Wales is irrelevant to them.

    Or:

Net mortgage lending by the major banks fell to £1.8bn in April, the BBA said. This was its lowest level since February 2001.

    See what I did there?

Or that how they report it is not based on your town only?

Spot checks on asking/Sold scc prices in the area I have a flat (South west London) in tells me things have moved dramatically upwards since the last quarter of 2009....

Appreciate that's only one area but, having missed selling at the peak of 2007 I'm seriously looking at doing so within 12 months as prices appear to be pretty much back there again.
