Cavity Wall Ties?

Hi Fokls,
Has anyone here ever hired anyone to fix their cavity wall ties (basically a problem found in odler houses where the cavity wall ties start to corrode and cause problems with brickwork).
Thanks,
BatCat

    Hi David,
I'm looking for the name of a firm who might be able to do the job?
We have builders in at the moment but they have never done cavity wall ties. I did get some quotes a few months ago but they were quite wide ranging. So I'm looking to see if anyone has hired anyone locally and found they did a good job for a reasonable price.
    Thanks,

Can the builders recommend or use websites such as mybuilder.com and read reviews first

    Hi David,
Our builders are not computer friendly!
Good suggestion though, we hired a guy previously through that site.
    Thanks,

Depends on where you are living. Try going onto the Property Care Association website. although primarily damp proofing they have a range of contractors that are experienced in replacing the wall ties and some also offer guarantees.

    Cheers Blossom!
Have just checked, think NI is rather poorly covered. Only seem to deal with damp :( curse and one company we had around to quote for the damp proof course and they were very odd!
    Thanks though!
    Cheers,
