Case marked sensitive

Question:

I was speaking to my new caseworker this morning after she called to say there was a delay dealing with some things as the case has been marked sensitive and she hasnt been able to access it. My old caseworker did but they had a re-shuffle last week. I cant recall him saying it was marked as sensitive.

Ive asked why its sensitive and all she said was that she had spoken to her team leader about it and its for reasons relating to the PWC but doesnt affect me.

Why would the case be marked as sensitive?
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.

I think I recall someone mentioning before on here, could it be the PWC knows someone who works at the CSA so the case has to be dealt with by certain people? I may be well off though.

I don't work for the CSA but do work for DWP and I know that cases can be marked sensitive for a wide variety of reasons.

A sensitive case means that only certain individuals with the correct access levels can access your case. Therefore things may take longer as it means the number of people who could work on your case are now reduced to those with the correct access levels.

In my experience the sensitive marker could be put on a case because of (this is not an absolute list by the way) VIP's such as the PM, transgenders, witness protection involvement, people with criminal records such as child abusers etc - it is purely to restrict people accessing their information on government systems. It could also be for the reason already mentioned - that either your ex or a member of staff has reported that they know each other therefore should not be able to work on your ex's case - however when I worked in a Jobcentre we had to report friends and relatives signing on and could not work on those cases, it didn't automatically mean the case was made sensitive! It just ment that the manager of the office knew we should not be working on a particular case.

The CSA may have their own definitions at to what constitutes a sensitive marking being added to a case.

My case was sensitive because I was a member of staff - I therefore couldn't access it so I could not be accused of inappropriate actions. Famous people's cases would be sensitive as well as those mentioned above. You as the non-sensitive party don't have the right under data protection to know why the case has been made sensitive.

It helps to know in what circumstances cases can be marked as sensitive, i didnt come on to ask why my case was marked sensitive.

I was round at my daughters mothers this afternoon but it slipped my mind, will ask her on Sunday when im over.

I'm just curious as to why it is important to you? I know the case gets more delayed due to the fact that hardly anybody will be able to access it but other than that it is the same.
