'Best Buy' Cling Film

Can anyone tell me what brand of Cling film they would recommend? Wooolworths brand used to be OK but sadly no more. I've tried numerous brands but each one is not really that good. They either will not 'cling' properly, do not tear off the roll easily or the cutting edge is to blunt.

I buy the cheap stuff (Value? It's in a green & white box) from Asda and find it OK. It's not suitable for microwave or freezer though.

I use UK Value, I get it from the local market in a dark and light blue box with a union jack in the corner. It's £2.50 for 150M and very good.

The cutting edge is a chunky, removable, piece of plastic that works well and can be taken off and used on other boxes.

I love the stuff from Lakeland. It's far from the cheapest but it is far and away the best I have tried - clings properly and tears easily.

They do it in a sample size pack for £1 which actually contains quite a reasonable amount, and also comes with a £1 money-off voucher for your next full-size purchase.

(Edited to add: it would appear from some of the customer reviews that they might now have changed the product for the worse... :()

Hi. I use Alio from Aldi. I've tried lots of different ones too and find this is the best. It clings well and is easy to tear. It also had a sticky bit underneath the 'cutter' so I never lose the end!

I vote for Lakeland cling film too and I haven't had any of the problems that some of the comments have witnessed.

    Love Lakeland!

I got some of this last year, as part of an offer, and found it to be no better than any other brand.

Despite many people on the old style board saying it was the best thing since sliced bread!!!!

I also noticed that it was shorter than other brands too. And when I did some digging, I found this was because they sell a "Cling film dispenser" which is shorter than normal, so once you have one the only brand of cling film that will fit the dispenser is Lakeland.

This is probably why they appear regularly in the charity shop at the end of my street!

Wilkinsons Own Brand is brilliant and wider than any of the others I've tried.
Bought some today and it's on offer 80p for 60mtrs which works out cheaper than the 100mtr roll.
