well here is a ROUGH guide on what companies have been known to accept,
please remember some people get lower amounts other have to pay much more than this,
these things depend on so many variables including what side of the bed the person in the company got out off
anyways rough guide is below
Debt still with original creditor NO default = 90% or more
Debt with original creditor but with a default = 75% or more
Debt with 'in house' debt collectors of the original creditor = 60% or more
Debt with external debt collector however still property of original credit = 40% or more
Debt owned(purchased) by external debt collectors = 25% or more
This is very interesting, as we have some debts (credit cards mainly)which have snowballed due to interest hikes etc BUT we haven't actually defaulted on any because we have been using one to pay the other etc. Have just remortgaged with view to paying off cc debts, so is it worth offering 90% to each as f&f? x0 -
Slight update people,
received one letter from company saying "yes we will accept your offer", then three days letter received another one saying "no but you can make an increased offer" and then another the same day saying "no, but you are required to pay £0 for 0 months"... obviously very professional!
About to reply saying your office appears very confused, so here's my original offer again...0 -
The one which was "accepted", what did you offer in terms of % of debt owed?
I have had a prob getting F&F's accepted, mostly like your reasons, bad communication. You send an offer, but the DCA doesnt turn off threat-o-grams, so the communication gets confused. Also, you never want to call them either. So hard to get anywhere.0 -
50% (only made one offer), certainly not going to ring these pirates! I was going to rip into them for being a complete joke of a company and go off at them for dropping in the fact they may "consider a doorstep visit" (good luck!) but I'll leave for that later on (ie if they don't accept!)0

50% isnt bad to get accepted. When did you last default on the debt and what was the rough amount?
I heard some companies like halifax dont allow F&F's. I've generally found it hit n miss. Havent got any to accept yet, depsite going 50%+0 -
Its a funny one, (its not my debt) my partners ex husband went bankrupt (its a joint account) and hence the bank demanded repayment.0
