New Northern Rock Mortgage

Hi
I'm moving house and my searches and various people (brokers/mortgage consultants etc.) are all (those who have whole of market to search in) are telling me that the 2 year fixed at 3.09% with Northern Rock is the best deal, even with a £1966 arrangement fee added, it does over the two years work out financially the best deal by about £6-700.
Is NR a safe place to get a mortgage these days?
Any advice would be great!
Thanks
DC

Yes, it'd be safe to get a mortgage with them, but a 2 year fix seems like a bad idea to me, particularly with the hefty fee. You'd be better looking for a longer term fix.0

Agreed with the above - £2k to fix for two years? Madness.0
