At the moment there seem to be a lot of adverts saying in effect " you can write off more than half of your debt", while it's a good thing that people can have this safety net in the case of job loss etc., what's to stop someone running up an enormous debt with no intention of ever paying it all off? if I used all my credit cards up to the max limits, I would have @ £70 k 's worth of debt to my name, that's just plain bonkers. this time 18 months ago we owed £25k on loans and cc's  , now it is less than £16k, I decided to get a better paid job with a few more hours so hopefully everything will be paid off by the end of 2008, that's the plan anyway, with advice from this site everything is now on ultra low rates for the duration, I do realise , however, that we are lucky to have a good credit rating, which makes all the difference I would imagine. of course if I went full time we could do it all a lot faster, but I am just too idle!!!:rotfl:

Those adverts are misleading really, its not as easy as all that to reduce your debts. And the companies administrating things such as bankruptcy or ivas certainly take a dim view if they suspect the debt was run up without any intention to pay it back.
But well done to you for paying it back the hard way, its much more rewarding in the long run and the lesson will have been learnt for the future! :TDon't stress, relax, let life roll off your backs. In my opinion the companies involved are scum bags, and also charge you whopping big fees too.
You keep doing it your way girl, though not everyone thinks liek you do.0
