Bankruptcy Discharge nightmare

To anyone else trying to get a certificate of discharge - I've been trying to get my bankruptcy discharge certificate since early July!
I sent off my £60 of postal orders early July. On July 14th the Royal Courts of Justice said that they sent off a form to the Official Receivers office to confirm my bankruptcy discharge date.
To this date, i have phoned twice a week, every week, and had the form sent off 4 more times. The Official Receivers say that the Royal Courts of Justice are at fault and the Royal Courts blame the Official Receivers. The Royal Courts say they sent it, the Official Receivers say they never received it. (Both of them also blame the messenger). I did have a provisional mortgage offer, whilst i was awaiting this certificate, which was supposed to get to me within four weeks. Its now the 22nd August 06, still no certificate and my mortgage offer has been rescinded as I cannot prove I am not bankrupt anymore.
This service is truly the worst I have ever known. I can't believe people have to pay for this! I want to find the name of a manager to complain to (neither party will give me a name). If I remember rightly, it took absolutely no time at all for me to receive the actual bankruptcy certificate. The worst of this is listening to the opposing factions !!!!!ing about each other whilst not actually caring about the fact that my item is missing! Its incredibly unprofessional and now I'm completely frustrated and panicing at the thought of no mortgage offer. And still no promise of it arriving anytime soon. One woman told me that it can regualarly take 'up to four months'.
How can I find out who to complain to!

Oh hell, that sounds awful for you!!
Do you have an address for any of these various parties? Could you perhaps send one addressed to 'The Chief Executive' or whatever the top bod is called, no matter about not having their name. A strongly worded letter setting out the problems you've had and that you'd like to make a complaint, that might do the trick. Send one to every party involved and don't mince your words. I believe every organisation has to have a complaints procedure and they can't just ignore a letter like that, one would hope.
Also, my cousin had a trick for getting to speak to managers of companies etc. He knew if he asked for the general manager he'd be fobbed off by the secretaries. So he phoned and asked for the name of the general manager, thanked them and rang off. A few hours later he'd phone and ask for the manager by name, with an air of authority, and get straight through :T Not sure that it's work for you if they won't give you a name to complain to, the swines, but perhaps asking without telling them who you are might work?!
Will cross fingers for you, best of luck

Did you keep a record of the Postral Order Numbers? Can you check when they were cashed - this should determine who holds responsibility.
Also, surely both parties, being state sponsored, should have web-sites detailing what you can do if you are unhappy with the service you have received. After all, they are the ones who sit in judgement on us!I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

These are very very good, gave me every bit of info I needed. I am currently saving up for my fees. How have you found the rest of the process. What has your OR been like (apart from your cert!), have you an IPO ?... Sorry to just blurt out with the q's...0 -
No its no problem at all. I've done all that and am now just looking for a mortgage - I can say I have come through it all relatively unscathed.
My OR was very understanding. I took all my documentation and my letters to and from all the companies and a letter from CCCS who showed that I had been attempting to pay nearly all my wages for over 3 years with no help (or even interest frozen!) by the majority of my debtors. He reduced my monthly payment from £50 to £0 and the judge was understanding as well. don't get me wrong, it was my fault, but due to late payments, fines, administration fees my debt doubled and god, the relief when it was over. I calculated the other day that to pay my debts off (not counting increasing interest) would have taken me 17 years and would never have been able to get a mortgage. With bankruptcy, four years down the line I'm looking for a house!
i did try the insolvency service but they can't help me with individual cases. I am currently ringing every ten mins hoping to get a different voice from the woman I spoke to earlier!0 -
What sort of things were you allowed to have as expenses, were you allowed to keep all of your salary?
Well done, sounds like it was a hard decision, but this is why this legislation is here... to help when its unbearable.0
