Farmfoods do good quality bread as well 2 for 1 pound
If your anything like us youll use lots of bread. What supermarkets do you have locally? Do you use My supermarket.com
Im on no way and expert but these are tips ive picked up from this board and have saved me lots as ive just seen my family expand to 7, 2 cats and a puppy (my bro and children we made homeless) carbs tend to be cheaper and we big bags of pots from the farmshops. It amazing what you can do with spuds.
If you use tinned toms the special offer 3 for 1 at Tescos at the moment works out cheaper than buying value. Frozen veg can really help as well as you can use just as much as you needMad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
Aiming to loose 56 pounds this year. Total to date 44.5 pounds 12.5 to go. Slimming World Rocks!0 -

bulk cooking wise I use 800g of steak mince for chili and that does 4 meals for us all so 8adult portionsand 8 child portions. Bolognese 1kg that does 4 meals of sauce and 3 meals of lasagne. I go to a butcher rather than a supermarket as i feel its better value.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

Like Starting again I too think you should try to use what you have first rather than binning it.If you really don't fancy it, why not see if you can 'swop' with someone else for something you may prefer.Or use what you have in a different way.You don't say what you have in your freezer.Perhaps if you do a small list we could give you some alternative recipes .Send me your email address and I'll send you 'My Misers Cook Book' that I have collected online for the past couple of years it may give you some inspiration if nothing else. You aren't doing too bad though for £75 pw for a family of 4.Well done with your efforts its all baby steps sometimes

Just a small tip that might help: When making sausage casserole type meals I cut the sausages in pieces (meatball size) before serving. That way one/one and a half sausages each is plenty. You can always add extra beans (red/butter etc) for plenty of protein and it cuts down on fat.0
