    Hi Adam,

I thought I would pop in and say hi again! That is a great reduction on the Cap1 card and I think seeing it finished will be a great boost for you :). Don't feel guilty about the night out, I think the key to maintaining a great debt busting life style is to allow yourself to have a night or day off every now and then, other wise you might just get burnt out!

    Keep on plodding :D

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

Just had a debt collection agency send me a letter requesting that I pay an overdue balance with o2 for £101.63 – not very happy! To cut a looooong story short, my brother-in-law was meant to pay off his contract with o2 (that was in my name) back in October (yes I know stupid mistake in the first place on my part). The payment – for what ever reason – didn’t go through. Now 9 months later they decide rather than picking up the phone and politely ask me to pay the money, to send an agency after me! I have paid it to them today, but I’m hoping this doesn’t show as a black mark on my credit file, that is already pretty dark with all my debt (although I have NEVER missed a payment on any of my debt!).

Anyway, just thought I would vent! Sorry, hope you all have a good weekend

  • Hmmmm, that brings back memories, had a run in with o2 myself only I didn't owe them it and they did the debt collection thing about a year after I'd stopped being a customer of theirs, had heard nothing in between! In the end I wrote to the Chief Exec as I was getting nowhere with the T***s on the phone - it did get sorted and I didn't have to pay it - although I think they cleared all but 1p and I still had to go and sort that out. They also tried taking money without my authority - bunch of crooks if you ask me, I will NEVER EVER go with them again, in fact I've never had a contract since then - much easier and less stressful on PAYG.

    Sorry to hear about that.
Me, DH and DD (17 months) clearing our debt for a better future. Then (LBM) = £21,636.43 (Oct 2009) Now = £12128.07 (44%)

Try to get credit card to £2k by April 2012 (was £3014.94)
PADing to clear CC 1/1/12 TOTAL: £32.00
Ditch 100 in January challenge: lost count but way over 100!!!/100

    Thanks :)

I've had other problems with o2, mainly with my mothers account. I only went with them for the iPhone, so I should switch back, but it all seems like too much hassle. Anyway, o2 are paid off, just waiting for the money from my sister to hit my account - we shall see...

Sorry to hear about O2, I also had issues with them and have had mutliple issues with other people not paying for phone contracts that were in my name so you have my sympathies.

Can you speak to O2 direct and ask why they didn't contact you for it? Maybe they could remove the negative mark ob your file?

Don't let it get you down too much mate, I looked at my credit file a few weeks back and it's appalling! Partly to be expected with the DMP but I also have defaults I am going to challenge!

I'm planning on clearing the Capital One cc next week! I can't wait :D So far I think I might be slightly ahead of target, providing my October bonus is what I think it will be :)

They had an old address for me. But because I had two contracts, they had two records for me (for some strange reason), and the other one was an old address. I tried to ask why they'd not thought of actually checking for another record of me but they didn't have an answer. This for some reason has not gone against my credit file, I've checked and there's only one o2 on there, and it's my current contract fortunately - I have a perfect record of repayments (except for the level of debt) so would have been very angry if someone else had tarnished it.

Does anyone else feel like these days in-between pay-day seem to go on and on? I feel like my progress has hit a wall. I was making a few payments at the beginning of the month, and everything was all exciting still, but it's been about 2 weeks since I've made any payments and I seem to have lost enthusiasm for it all.

Anyway, I get paid on Friday, so should see the Capital One cc gone, and chopped up (I've saved the chopping for when it's cleared). I think I will do it with a celebration glass of wine with my OH and make a night of it LOL - it will finally seem like real progress.

    :)
