HELP! Temporary work for student

Hi, my son has returned from Uni for the summer and is desperate for a temporary job (doing anything almost!) and I'm desperate to get him out from under my feet! Any idea's he's tried the recruitment agencies and is looking in the local paper but nothing so far! Any ideas greatfully accepted!

MM:eek:

Knock on the doors of every restaurant and pub in the area. After finishing with that, then its up to the local industrial estate and more door knocking.

Recruitment agencies? I know many here think they are the work of the devil  but they can be good for getting a temporary job quickly.

Does he have any specific skills or experience, eg bar work, typing, retail?

    Fast food outlets.

Next door neighbours daughter does some work in MacDonalds and they are very good at allowing her to swap shifts, which means she can organise her life to suit herself pretty much.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Thanks for all the suggestions, unfortunately he's done most of them - I suppose he will just have to keep looking (I realise lots of peeps are i the same boat so it's going to be harder this year!) - hopefully one of the agencies will come up with something!

May be a bit late but it's worth checking the local council websites and contacting local event venues such as concert halls, parks, football grounds... to see if they need stewards

Maybe he could try a holiday camp or hotel - your son will be earning, out from under your feet, and might even get his board for the summer into the bargain!
