career change advice please?

Hi a bit of advice please, I am currently in an accounts role earning reasonable money for the amount of work I do, I am really fed up working in accounts i've been with the same company for 12years and am ready for a change, I was offered another job doing accounts last year but my manager offered me more work and more money to stay, so I stayed. I work 3 full days a week (due to children) I'd love to work with children but not sure in what area, maybe in social work is where I keep looking. Not sure what type of jobs there are in this field. I have no experience working with children only looking after my two. Where do I start looking? I know I'll need somw qualifications but what and where do I start looking? Come January I will have two days free to do any voluntary work or studying.

Special Needs schools often need volunteers. You'll need a full CRB to work with children and they can take an age to come through so apply for one now.

Thanks i will look into that. I already have a full CRB as I currently do the accounts for a local scout group which needed me to be CRB checked. As you said it did take ages to come through.
