colleague being promoted

A much liked colleague (female) is being promoted above our team of 5 of us. She is moving into another office that she will share with one other. We are all very pleased for her and will miss her in our room. On the day she moves offices we'd like to do something for her - any ideas anyone?
I'd also appreciate ideas for a meaningful gift - thoughtful or humourous - rather than expensive.

Thanks in advance, Narla x

How about cut outs of all your heads (or just a picture) for her to put up on her wall so she doesnt forget what you all look like or miss looking your smiling faces everyday! hehe You could even take pictures specifically and pull silly faces then blow them up and print off at work A4 size and then cut out and laminate, so cheap and cheerful!

In terms of doing something nice then maybe a little 'moving office' lunch with some cakes and little buffet? Something different from the norm! When I was working in my mums office (only 5 people also) and one woman was leaving for a better paid job we all had our lunch at the same time and ordered a dominoes for us all to celebrate her new job :D

That's a great idea Giggles_Fairy - thanks. Just hope I can get everyone to agree to their picture being taken. A nice lunch sounds a great idea too.

Your welcome. Im sure whatever you do your colleague will be grateful.

Maybe also something like 10 reason Why we will miss you.... e.g. you always have sweets we can nick..... and then ten reason why we WONT miss you.... e.g. you make a crap cup of tea! You could maybe again print it off and highlight it and put it in her card or something.

    :D

Your welcome :D Im surprised no one else has responded to this. Ive never worked in an office (except two week temp stint at my mums office which doesnt really count as I was driving around all day hahaha) andhave had same part time job in retail for 6 years so Im pretty much out of ideas now! I hope you have a lovely leaving day with her anyway and dont miss her too much!
