Can you help my Mum. Last night she knocked a cup of freshly made coffee over and it went across a wooden coffee table (Mahogany Veneer) and rug. She mopped rug but didn't pay much attention to table. This morning there are whilte marks that she can't get out of the table. She says its called a 'bloom'.
Does anyone have any ideas how to get these out, Mum remembers a similar thing years and years ago but can't think what she used. I have a vauge idea they are salt marks but I might be wrong.

If you know someone who smokes, get them to save some ash, make it into a thick paste (with a little water) and rub it into the marks, leave for a few hours and then wipe off. This might help!!!0

easy one this: get some Brasso and working from the outside in, rub lightly over the bloom with a soft cloth. A heavy hand will ruin it. You MIGHT need to do the whole table (but LIGHTLY) once you've got rid of the marks, because it may shine slightly more than the spots you didn't do first time.
