Weight watchers Old Style

I am currently following the weight watchers diet.... only a week or so into it but am finding that i am buying stacks of pre prepared meals from tescos as the points value is on the packaging and i know that they are tasty. I was just getting into the old style swing before this and am sure that i can combine the two.... Any ideas on this guys?

thanks

have you signed up to the weightwatchers web forum? You can search for recipes on there.

I'm not at goal after loosing 2 stone and I went off track once I hit goal so again I'm eating the pre-prepared meals at £1 each

I'd recommend you buy a points calculator, I found it helped when buying sweet stuff because certain brands are the same points value as WW and are much less in price!

You can still make your dinners and easily work out the points! As I said, the website has some great recipes and they also send you a weekly newsletter with recipes on there! https://www.weightwatchers.co.uk

As you can see from my signature I'm dieting at present. I originally lost 3 stone with WW and then put 2st back on!

I haven't gone back to WW but used the points book to work out the points for everything we have. OH printed out sheets on which we write down every thing we eat at each meal and everything is weighed out and pointed up.

We have totally given up on packaged meals and make everything from scratch ... so I write the points down in pencil next to the ingredients in the recipe books and when I freeze portions I put the points on the label.

Between the two of us we have lost over four stone. We eat very well and by losing weight together we operate a 'buddy system' to keep us motivated. OH is now maintaining but 'points counting' his meals and mine to help keep me on track.
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

I did WW over a year ago - lost two stone and have been at my target weight every since

Ditch the ready meals - I always found that the portions were small for what you got. That said, I did buy the WW fromage frais in a pot as they were great for lunches.

Cooking from scratch is easier - I spent an evening going through all my favourite recipes and working out the points per serving so I knew how much it would "cost" me. Where necessary I adapted the recipe - eg replacing oil with a spray of oil. Menu planning goes hand in hand with weightloss - if you have to think about what you eat for weightloss reasons, then you might as well do a menu plan whilst you're there!

With a little practice you'll know how much points things cost and you can come up with some standbys for when you're hungry - for example jacket potato + ratatoullie (sp?) is one of my standbys and comes in around 4/5 points.

    Good luck!

I always found the best thing about WW was the unlimited amount of veg you can eat - so stock up on whatever is going cheap, you've grown at home or whatever other OS shopping methods you use and dig in. They're points free so put a big old pile on the side of every meal - with a little bit of the nice stuff like meat and potatoes.

When I was doing the diet I would steam a plate of fresh veggies in the microwave at work and have them in a bowl with a little soy sauce mid afternoon. People thought I was mad but it filled me up and was far healthier than refined low fat snacks like cereal bars and snack a jacks and the like.

You can do Weightwatchers with any meal really. You just have to put that extra bit of time into working out how many points there are in everything. Then once you know the nubmers for your favourites it's much easier.
