He will love the train at Moors Valley, my 5 year old did! But be ready with some money because at the end of the line (before your return journey to the main lake/park) there's a shop selling Thomas the Tank stuff! At the usual price too (same as Woolies, around £5 for a takealong train).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If you like Car Boot Sales and are in the area, there is a huge one about a mile up the road from Moors Valley. Starts at 06:30 every Sunday - well worth a look if it's your thing, it's huge !!!0

just to let you know that if you do the lotto they are doing 2 for 1 on things. I live in Poole which is next to Bournemouth and I am going to Lulworth castle on 2 for 1.
Have a nice time in bournemouth and remember the Russell Cotes Museum is free just by the Imax there.
The tourist info is in westover road, and I am still laughing after someone referred to it being near the plaza - makes Bournemouth sound posh!!All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0 -

Few things you might like to do.
At the moment the local radio 2CR have the 2CR Skyshow (firework display) from the pier every Friday night and play music on the radio to go with it, be someware you can see the pier at 9PM its all free and they do it every year for 9 weeks.

Every Sunday in the Summer they have "classics on the prom" at 4pm on the cliff side road (on cliff edge) that runs down next to the BIC (Bournemouth International Centre) right down the the Pier. Again free, if you like old cars everyone brings their classics. Look out for a dark Green Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite, I might make an appearance.

Don't miss the New Forest, for a drive, walk, bicycle or horse ride. Its really nice, The horses walk free on the roads and its a stunning area, take a picnic and enjoy the scenery. If you pop into Ringwood (on the edge of the New Forest and just north of Bournemouth (close to Moors Valley) the touist information have a hut in the main carpark, you wont miss it, Ringwood is a small market town from the TI you can get loads of onfo on the forest and a map with loads of really nice areas to see and picnic, Take a kite (but don't scare the horses).

I would go on the poole tourism website - nevermind the fireworks in bournemouth they are on thursday nights either at sandbanks or on the quay. I think sandbanks in aug and the Quay the first week or so in september. All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0

If you're into Motorbikes then go to Poole Quay on a Tuesday evening - you will see hundreds of them!
Plenty of places to eat and drink, something for all the family and if the kids get bored there is an amusement arcade to keep them occupied....0 -

To everyone that posted a reply... thankyou so much! We had an utterly wonderful time - couldn't belive how fantastic the beaches were, I've never seen such clean beaches/sea water in my life! We did go to Moors Valley and it was perfect. We spent 6 hours there and even then it felt like we could have spent longer! Everyone was so friendly, there was so much to do, we need to go back; and definitely will! We were blessed with the weather so spent two days in the glorious sunshine on the beach and then explored for the other 2 days.
Those of you that live in and around Bournemouth...you lucky, lucky people!:D0
