halifax mortgage promise

our mortgage promise is only valid until July as of yet we have not sold our property.
do we need to go through whole application again or can halifax just extend it with minor checks?

Hi there

We had a mortgage promise from the Halifax last September that expired end of March. We renewed it a week ago and had to start again. However perhaps if you ask to renew it before it actually expires that may not be the case?

They should simply be able to extend it.

The minor checks would just be a new credit check.

To be honest, it's not the end of the world if you let it expire, as you can easily get a new one as and when you find a buyer.
