Argos home delivery very poor!

My wife ordered a (plastic) garden table and chairs online from Argos for home delivery.
I work shifts and was on a day off today (Tuesday) so she arranged delivery for then.
The printout stated delivery between 0700hrs to 1800hrs but included a phone number (0845!) to contact customer services.
I contacted them this morning to get some idea of time of delivery - they were unable to say.
They said once it is in the hands of their carriers they do not have any further info.
I complained that I was expected to spend my entire day off (up to eleven hours of it) waiting in for a delivery which may or may not turn up?
They could not help any further. I advised them that this was our first and last order from Argos home delivery.
Even am or pm I could have lived with - but not ALL day. It's unreasonable in this day and age.
Buyers beware!
PS: Balls to them anyway, I'm going out. If I miss them they can either try again or refund us - I'm not really bothered.
