Ink cartridges

Have just had to change both the colour and black and white ink cartridges in my Lexmark printer.
Am I right in thinking there is somewhere I can send my empty cartridges and get loyalty points - Tesco or Sainsburys - if so, where can I get info?
I've also seen empty cartridges for sale on Ebay, I usually chuck them away - is it worth trying to flog them or is there a better alternative.
All advice gratefully received........

I'll have some of that white ink!! Seriously, there are lots of recycling companies such as: http://www.cartridgeexpress.net/content/recycle.html?wcw=google
Our local supermarket and chrity shops also have free envelopes for recycling. We tend to refill - works out much cheaper!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0 -

I can't realy help you with the cartridge recycling problem, Mummy. But I also had a Lexmark printer, and was gobsmacked at the price of replacement cartridges. I sat down and compared prices [i.e. cost of original printer plus cost of replacement cartridges] over a 3 year period, and immediately changed my printer for an Epson C60.
Each Lexmark cartridge was going to cost me £25 each, and I managed to pick up an Epson C60 for £75 [and the price included new cartridges]. I then bought Epson-compatible cartridges for £1.99 off the Net, after that. I've since upgraded to an Epson R200, so that I can print onto CDs & DVDs.
My next-door-neighbour has just bought an Epson C48 for £42, and can get his replacement cartridges for less than £1.80 each (see http://ukdvdr.co.uk/shop/C48-c-326.html). I scanned the same website for Lexmark-compatibles, and the cheapest was £12.99.
IMHO, it really is worth thinking about the full cost of the printer over it's life, and switching to one with a lower whole life cost. I opted for Epson about 5 years ago, following a recommendation from a friend; and regularly buy him a beer to thank him for his advice.
Sorry, I couldn't help with the recycling issue.

Hmmmm, white ink, what was I thinking.....
Good idea about replacing printer, might put one on my christmas list, the cartridges I put in yesterday will last me until then, I hardly use it to be honest but maybe I would if it didn't cost so much to replace the things!0 -
Comet are flogging a lexmark printer for 19.99. Presumably it comes with a set of new cartridges.
Donate your old printer to a charity shop and get a shiny new one for less than the cost of 2 replacement cartridges.
I have a Lexmark Z617 - cost me 20 quid from ASDA, and yes - it came with a couple of cartridges.0 -

You might be better off getting a new epson or canon printer in the long run, then you can get cartridges for only £5 from www.inkpeople.co.uk0

I'm struggling to understand why you are happy to pay £4.99 for a cartridge at InkPeople, that you can buy for £1.80 from http://www.ukdvdr.co.uk/shop/home.php
I've used them and http://svp.co.uk/index.php for years, and both are cheap and reliable.0 -

Hi Pavlov.
ink365 was a new one on me, so I took a look. I could only find https://www.365ink.co.uk - hopefully, I got the right site.
I had a quick look at for replacement cartridges for my Epson R200, and found that 365ink do a full set for £15.99 incl P&P. http://www.ukdvdr.co.uk/shop/home.php do a full set plus 1 extra black cartridge for £5.49 plus £2.99 P&P.
Unfortunately, they are not on quidco yet; but you might want to check them out. Might even get the dogs salivating again!

ND Ink do them even cheaper. There total price including P+P is £8.34 compared to £8.48 at UKDvdr.
