Getting Tesco Deal Tokens - sorry - bit long

Hi - Sorry if this is being a bit thick, but I need some help. It's the first time I have used my vouchers. I have £28.50 worth of Tesco Voucers which I understand can give me £114 worth of deals. I'm not sure I know what I am doing.
I would like to go to Vineopolis which costs £50 for two, so would need to send off £12.50 worth of vouchers (I have a £5 and a £7.50 voucher, so that is covered) . I would also like to go to London Zoo which costs £26 for two. So I could use a £5 voucher which would pay for £20 and pay the extra myself (I understand I can't use a £6 voucher because it has to be in increments of £1.25). Is my reasoning correct here?
Also, how do the deals vouchers come? The order form says that they can come in denominations of £5, £10, £40 and £60. If they send me a £60 and a £10 I am stuffed. If I fill out two lines on the form will they send me a £40 and two £10s? I ask this because if I do it online it just gives a total of £70.
Finally, when the tokens come, do I just go to the venue and use them?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Every time I have exchanged for deal tokens I have received denominations of £10 & £5 depending on how much I requested. I sent off £10 pounds worth of vouchers for £40 in deal tokens last Tuesday and they had arrived by Friday, 4 X £10.
You can use vouchers of higher value than you want and they will refund the extra points back to your card so you will get them sent back out in vouchers next time.
As for using them you just hand them over at the ticket office as if it was cash.
Hope this helps, enjoy your days out, they are always even better when you know youve saved money !!0 -
This is the first time that I am going to use them for the Clubcard Deals too. I have one question. If I want to save up for a holiday for example, do I just save the Tesco Clubcard vouchers until I have enough to exchange them for the entire deal? Or do I send them in for the deals vouchers and keep saving them until I have enough?
I just want to make sure I do it correctly.0 -
Hi
OP - just a thought, why not send off two orders to the Deals exchange, that way ensuring that they will come in the correct denominations.
It is best to save the clubcard vouchers rather than deals as they have a longer expiry date, I believe that vouchers take two years to expire rather than six months with deals tokens.

Thanks to everyone who post comps - you are all :cool2:0 -

You just need to save as many as you can in the time you have, they can be used as part payment if you dont reach the required amount.
example.
Holiday is £1600 ,you have £200 in clubcard vouchers which you send away for £800 in deals. Then use the £800 deals vouchers, and add £800 of you own cash/credit card etc.
hope that helps0 -

Are you doing a special super duper package for the price of £50?
Because if not, Vinopolis often do special 241 deals or the like meaning that you could save your Tesco deals for something harder to obtain.
241 entry with a rail ticket (be like Martin and buy a cheap single if you're not travelling to London by train)

This is a combined offer for Vinopolis and seeing The Producers (saw it in NYC and it's fab)

241 entry if you are a member of the AA
http://www.theaa.com/services/member_benefits/vinopolis.html?offerDetails?offerId=79
Free entry if you have the London Pass

This was just a quick Google search but as Vinopolis have so many offers/packages out there it might be worth considering saving your Tesco vouchers for something else.

Forgot to say - I went to Vinopolis a while back and it was great. Really different day out and nice to go sarf of the river for a change.
Swing through Borough Market on your way (and celeb spot) or else buy some of the fresh food on offer.
Oh, and try the white port on the wine tour - it's surprisingly good!0 -
Hi thanks casual. I went there a couple of years ago with work and had a hoot - could barely stand when we got out.
I like the pubs and eateries around there because they are comparatively cheap compared to the City or Canary Wharf where I work.
The deal we want to do the £25 one which includes 5 regular wines, a Bombay Sapphire cocktail, the 'How to Taste Wine' session, 5 extra regular wine tastings, 4 Premium wine tastings, Audio guide featuring Oz Clarke, the choice of a Vinopolis corkscrew or a Tasting Notebook and the choice of a Vinopolis T-shirt or Vinopolis Polo shirt for you to take away at the end of your visit.
I have found that these vouchers are all not what they are cracked up to be. First of all I was going to use then for a Channel Tunnel crossing, but you have to use them with a particular fare rate - I went over there not so long ago for £40 for a car but the fare rate for the vouchers would have cost over £100. Ditto when I looked into using them for a hotel. So it seems to me days out are the way to go because at least we get to go for nothing. And because I want to go for my birthday, it will be a bonus too!_party_0
