    Hi Vertatim,

Well got paid today and I am left with the grand total of £190 cash to live on for the month, I am planning to pay off a small OD I have of £138, hence the low amount.

Good news though and got a job interview but it is in an industry that I haven't work for nearly 2 years so really nervous, but the agency say I will be fine. Just got to remember that I did that same job once, so should be fine.

Badnews though, my lovely new cat has got to go to the vets tonight, he is in real pain when I pick him up. Funnily enough I took pet insurance for him in the week £5.00 per month but I won't allow a claim in the first two weeks. I have only had him three weeks, and had only just just around to doing it, so out comes the CC, I am more worried about him though, it has been really nice having him at home, living on my own again took lots of adjustment and he is such a sweet thing.

I really really appreciate you taking the time to ask though.

Vet thinks he has been in a fight, pet insurance yet to kick in so fees so far £60, he has a bare bottom and antibiotics and painkillers.

The poor thing is to frigthened to go outside, when I went out with him and this other cat bounded up to him and started hissing and trying to take a swipe at him - right in front of me - bloody cheek.

He is now hiding under ther bed! Trying to avoid being bullied !

Got to take him back to the vets on Tueday, probably another £60.

    Although he is worth it!

If you have a high interest account for your savings this will pay for the credit card or certainly a good proportion, so you wouldn't need to feel guilty.

Could you extend the length of you loan so your repayments are less allowing you to save the extra and pay off early and prevent getting into further debt or change providers so you had a lower rate?

    Hi Lisa

Sorry to hear about your cat, poor thing sounds so frightened. I hope the vet sorts it all out and it's all behind you soon.

Pity you had to put it on the card but that's life sometimes, gets worse before it gets better again.

Hope you are having a good weekend.

    I'm in a similar situation.
DH decided he was leaving Xmas Eve last year (great timing...not!!) to run off with OW....
All through our marriage I have supported him financially even though he worked himself, every time he held his hand out for money he got it. More fool me eh! I've had to ask folks today to help me out to the tune of a few hundred quid to ensure the bills get paid this week. I've literally got more going out than coming in, because I've been left with loans and credit cards (my name only) that I had to take out to keep us both going. He took out loans and cards and defaulted on them all (nothing to do with me thankfully so I don't have any liability there). I have a £4k loan with Cahoot which of course has had its limit frozen and so can't take any more out of that - but that was my slush fund, it's kept me going for over a year to fund the deficit between zero financial support from (soon to be ex) and what I had to pay for ALL the bills. Basically he lived here rent free for god knows how long! grrrr...
Consequently I am filing for divorce (and the sad news is despite his bad behaviour the law says I must pay HIM out...grrrr!!! even though its all in my name!!)

I'm going to have to do some serious pulling in of oars but I've done lots already such as cancelling some Sky channels, switching to Talk Talk for all calls+broadband at £21/mo (saving over £40/mo), lowered my mobile tariff, now saving on council tax by living on my own, cancelled all unnecessary direct debits (to charity etc). I've got £21k of debt between credit cards and loans but I am just stuck until Aug 07 when I can get straight (due to come into some dosh) but the next 12 months are going to be both hard mentally and financially, what with the impending divorce etc!!

Chin up folks, it's blinkin difficult and I too got upset today when I did a financial inquest and saw I'm actually £200 short this month before I even do any other spending!! Bank of mum and dad helped and at least I don't have to pay back straight away (ok so they said they don't want it back at all but I will pay them back!)

    Hells,

It is a nightmare when things don't work out as you think, being left high and dry by the person who was supposed to love you is hard enough but then to have to face financial hardship just adds to the nightmare.

This month I have £190, for food, petrol and general expenses which is a bit !!!!!!!! and the vets fees is just typical of my luck, it now stands at £105, thank the lord I have taken pet insurance for the future, a very good lesson learnt, although knowing my luck I will probably never have to claim on it!!!!

At least you have your m and d, although I guess that it is hard having to ask them, mine whilst they very nicely gave me some savings it comes woth ties and I am unable to approach them about general stuff, they also expect really nice gifts at Christmas extra, I'm not really supposed to use the 4k and yet I am supposed to be really grateful and beholdant, I don't mean to be ungrateful but I wish that I had never had it!

The vet wouldn't take my CC ( AMEX ) which is a good thing, had to use the money I had set aside for my OD ( Free ) but at least it isn't more cc debt!

    Keep your chin up too,

    Lisa

You might want to ask around for a cheaper vet. £60 for antibiotics and painkillers sounds an awful lot. I do know that vets fees around here vary enormously.
Anyway hope kitty is feling better soon.
    I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.
