Endowment Termiinal Bonuses

Options
Hi all - new member here!

I currenntly have four with profit endowments,

The statements from the two I have with with L&G state that the terminal bonus is currently at 68%.

However, the other two (Zurich and Aviva do not state what the current TB is, nor can I find any figures on the companies' web sites. Is this because these two companies don't advertise their TBs or am I just not looking hard enough? OTOH, can anyone actually tell me what the relevant bonuses actually are?

BTW, I am aware that TB's are not guaranteed.

TIA

Campbell

Usually terminal bonuses will be different for policies over different terms (unless they're all zero...).

The idea of a terminal bonus is to 'smooth out' fluctuations in investment growth over the term of a policy. So, if two policies are maturing in 2010 but one had a ten year term and one had a 25 year term, the terminal bonus rates on those two policies are likely to be quite different.

I think the best way to find out the current position for your specific policies is probably to ask Zurich and Aviva (bearing in mind, as you say, that TBs are not guaranteed and the current position may change).
