I have 4 small pensions am transferring 3 into the largest

Can anyone tell me please if there is anything I should be looking at when
I transfer 4 small pensions into 1 large one regarding the protected rights parts? 2 of the pensions have protected rights. Does that make any difference?

    Things to look at are:

    1 - costs
    2 - investment options
    3 - guarantees lost

moving the three small ones into the large one doesnt sound like you have analysed the above things with each of the plans and with current modern alternatives.

  • Thanks - you are right - but as the pensions are small it would probably cost more than they are worth to approach an IFA - so I am trying to sort it out myself - but it is a lot harder than I thought it would be

I would say that if the total pot is over £10k then its worth using an IFA.
