Is Offset best thing for us?

Hello MSEs!
I have recently acquired some funds (nothing dodgy!) and altogether have about £80k in the bank. I am thinking that an offset would work wonders for me. Am I right in this thinking or would I be better off with another type of mortgage? Currently on A&L variable and have £104k outstanding.
ANyone recommend a good one? I have looked at First Direct.
Many thanks.

It very much sounds like you fit the bill for an offset mortgage. I'm getting one myself and the best First Direct offers are (below 65% LTV of less) are first class. And with no lock in period you can move it if things change or a better offer comes along.0
